I met Howie early this morning on the trail and we set off about 5:15 am for our 90 minute run.   We talked pretty good and had a decent pace for the first 43 minutes (right at 5 mile mark).  My stomach was girgling this morning (3 beers and pizza probably didn't help last night) and I started getting uncomfortable about mile 6. I made a pit stop about mile 8 and he went ahead.  I said "I'll catch you" knowing I wouldn't.  About .7 of a mile left, Howie had turned around and we ran the last of it together.   I plannned and even said out loud, "let's turn around early cause I imagine the 2nd half will be slower", it turned out exactly that.  Wonder if I would have said 'Let's keep going cause the 2nd have will be way faster"? Time was 1:29: 45 or 9:04 / mile.  Splits were: 8:48, 8:45, 8:49, 8:59, 8:52, 9:06, 9:18, 9:28, 9:39, and 9:00 (thank goodness for Howie).
