Just about to start my training.  Took off about 2 weeks to finish up grades and Christmas break.   Finished 7 weeks of a 13 week P90X program but decided to stop to start my 16 week training schedule for my first full marathon in April.   Gained about 10 pounds this week although I worked out everyday over break.   Darn students brought in all kind of goodies which I welcomed with open arms plus the boozing didn't exactly help.  Excited about using my Forerunner 405 watch and other running equipment I got for Christmas.

37 minutes 25 seconds later.. it was cold but not to bad.  I ran 2.02 miles out and turned around about mile 3, my watch went to satillite mode and I couldn't get it back.  I have to say I was very pre-occupied with it even before it started acting up.  Eventually I got it back and when I got back to my house (start) the mileage read 3.86 miles.  I ended up running past my house and turned around down the street.  Slow first run, 95 more glorious runs left!!!  haha

Great job! You should make a countdown chain for those 95 runs...

Always try to support teachers. Good luck, Matt. My own experience is that things get easier the lighter you get.

Late night out with friends and Crown Royal.  Also helped a friend by setting about 200 square feet of ceramic tile so I wasn't looking forward to my run.   It was windy and a little cold but the first mile and half went so well, I decided to go an extra half each way.   I was running between 8:10 and 8:30.  Then I hit the 2.5 mile and turned around and the wind made me regret going the extra mile.   Ended up running 5 miles in 45:15 so I guess I get to go 4 tomorrow.   Calves hurt a little but a little TLC with the rolling stick should do the trick.

Good run today.  Averaged 8:51 which is pretty fast for me.  I feel like my pace fluctuates so much.  I probably need to pay less attention to my watch and focus on infinite other things.    I also probably underdressed (shorts and a short sleeve shirt) as it warmed up to about 45 degrees today.  I worked for a friend today at his deli and navigated a 4 mile route home.   Probably should have had a lighter lunch.  Thought a lot about the 13 miler coming up on Sunday as I ran.  Might move it to Saturday since it is going to be 58 degrees.

The warm weather was a nice bonus for December 29th.  I ran on the trail but this time ran into the wind the first half.  Only difference was a got a good smell of AB's Clysdales which encouraged me to run faster.   Ran 8:30's so I am happy with that.  Legs feel good and I am sure my P90X 40 minute stretch this morning helped.   3 miles tomorrow and 13 on Sunday.

Went 30 minutes on the elliptical today.  Should have made it outside but work and errands got in the way.  By the time I made time, my wife had to run a few errands and I couldn't leave the kids so I settled for elliptical.  I did get some new Cumulous Asic running shoes from The Running Center so I am excited about my next run.

Aweful start to the morning.  Dog peed on the new (again!) carpet so 20 minutes of cleaning that up and then the dog ran away (ok, I might have had something to do with that).  30 minutes later, I found him.   So my 13 mile run turned into a 5.1 with 8 left this afternoon in 60 degree weather.   It was a little cold this morning and ran in 44:37 with the last mile uphill at an extremely slow(er) pace.  Calves are sreaming a little but everything else feels pretty good. Had to work til noon so gonna feed the kids and put them down for a nap before I head out again.

The 8 miles in the afternoon started out well.   60 degrees, running fast (downhill).  Ran into a dad of a guy I coached years ago and he rode as we talked for about a mile (sure did make that mile go fast).   Then I started uphill into the wind.  Needless to say the 2 mile climb hammered me.  I think my watch pace said 10:48 pace at one time.  Finished the combined 13.1 in a 2:01 which I don't feel so good about.  Went right for the chocolate milk, left over chicken fried rice, and a nice big salad with cooked (microwaved) chicken breast on top.  Needless to say, those calories burned washed with my "linner".   Feel pretty good but really feeling my calves.
