Did speed work tonight.  10 x 800 meter @ 10k race pace.   I had not run a single mile since April 15th.  I have also been reading a lot about "post marathon syndrome" and I feel like I have been in a huge funk (ie. no motivation to run, lethargic, laying around, slight depression mostly caused by Blues losing to the f&$^#)  Kings).    Jeff told me I probably should skip tonight but I am glad I didn't.   I think this is exactly what I needed to get me out of this funk.   Running with a group is awesome!!!!   Liz and I ran in the 7:45 group and a few colleagues ran with the 7:00 group.   It was not comforting to see the agony they were in as we waited to start but I gotta say I feel really good.   Maybe the month (plus) off was good for me???

I beat 1:42 every time and my last rep was 1:22

2nd week of speed training.  We ran 5 x 800's tonight.   My last and fastest time was 3:19 and my goal was 3:30.   All the previous 800s were below 3:25.  I have been consistent with my P90X 6 to 7 days a week.

I got up early to meet Billy and Scott (in town from London) for a run.  We were going to meet on Grant's Trail at 6:30 so I decided to make the run from my house.  Ran the 3.23 miles there in 29:36 and felt pretty good.  Pace was 9:23, 9:31, 8:26 and the last quarter was 9:54 although I am not certain I stopped my watch.   After meeting up with them we ran another 4.5 miles in 9:26 average pace.  Splits were: 9:11, 9:20, 9:31, 9:38, and the last half 9:34.  I got a ride back home from Scott and stretched a little as he caught up/ played with the kids.  I feel really good and Scott wants to run again Monday morning.  We'll see how this running thing goes, crazier things have happened.
