MattKeutzer Running Blog at FastRunningBlog.Com http://MattKeutzer.fastrunningblog.com/ Mon, 21 May 2012 15:06:44 FeedCreator 1.7.2 Sat, May 19, 2012 http://MattKeutzer.fastrunningblog.com/blog-05-19-2012.html <p>I got up early to meet Billy and Scott (in town from London) for a run.&nbsp; We were going to meet on Grant's Trail at 6:30 so I decided to make the run from my house.&nbsp; Ran the 3.23 miles there in 29:36 and felt pretty good.&nbsp; Pace was 9:23, 9:31, 8:26 and the last quarter was 9:54 although I am not certain I stopped my watch.&nbsp;&nbsp; After meeting up with them we ran another 4.5 miles in 9:26 average pace.&nbsp; Splits were: 9:11, 9:20, 9:31, 9:38, and the last half 9:34.&nbsp; I got a ride back home from Scott and stretched a little as he caught up/ played with the kids.&nbsp; I feel really good and Scott wants to run again Monday morning.&nbsp; We'll see how&nbsp;this running thing&nbsp;goes, crazier things have happened.</p> Sat, 19 May 2012 06:00:00 Tue, May 15, 2012 http://MattKeutzer.fastrunningblog.com/blog-05-15-2012.html 2nd week of speed training.&nbsp; We ran 5 x 800's tonight.&nbsp;&nbsp; My last and fastest time was 3:19 and my goal was 3:30.&nbsp;&nbsp; All the previous 800s were below 3:25.&nbsp; I have been consistent with my P90X 6 to 7 days a week.&nbsp; Tue, 15 May 2012 06:00:00 Tue, May 08, 2012 http://MattKeutzer.fastrunningblog.com/blog-05-08-2012.html <p>Did speed work tonight.&nbsp; 10 x 800 meter @ 10k race pace.&nbsp;&nbsp; I had not run a single mile since April 15th.&nbsp; I have also been reading a lot about &quot;post marathon syndrome&quot; and I feel like I have been in a huge funk (ie. no motivation to run, lethargic, laying around, slight depression mostly caused by Blues losing to the f&amp;$^#)&nbsp; Kings).&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Jeff told me I probably should skip tonight but I am glad I didn't.&nbsp;&nbsp; I think this is exactly what I needed to get me out of this funk.&nbsp;&nbsp; Running with a group is awesome!!!!&nbsp;&nbsp; Liz and I ran in the 7:45 group and a few colleagues ran with the 7:00 group.&nbsp;&nbsp; It was not comforting to see the agony they were in as we waited to start but I gotta say I feel really good.&nbsp;&nbsp; Maybe the month (plus) off was good for me???</p> <p>I beat 1:42 every time and my last rep was 1:22</p> Tue, 08 May 2012 06:00:00
